They are not routers...just Routing protocols to Route the traffic

routing is two types

1.Static

2.Dynamic(through protocls like RIP,OSPF,EIGRP,BGP etc)

RIP: The Routing Information Protocol (RIP) is one of the oldest distance-vector routing protocols, which employs the hop count as a routing metric and15 is max allowed metrics.

OSPF:(Open shortest path first) is a link-state routing protocol. Link-state protocols use the shortest path first (SPF) algorithm to populate the routing table. OSPF shares information with every router in the network.

OSPF and Rip are routing protocols. they are used to share routing tables using the protocols rather than static routing. you can use these features on all routers, they are not router specific except EIGRP which runs only on cisco routers

the router which is having the ospf protocol on the router is called ospf router and rip router which is having rip protocol running in that router . but most of the router working ospf and eigrp  currently running in market
