As a Marketing Professional, do you think a Marketing Professional can perform sales activity?

Of course they can, all they need to have is a good convincing ability and product knowledge.

Basically a marketer is a sales person who knows and understand sales or else he would not be working as the root of sales. Marketers source and assess products, do consumer research to identify the needs of the customer advertise and brand products. They generate interest in the products that lead to sales. 

What i have noticed is that large number of people in the market mix marketing and sales  and consider that they are almost same, however there is a very thin line in between marketing and sales which differentiate them from each other.

“Marketing is to create awareness”

Marketing is all about creating awareness for the brand or product you want to sell into the market.

A marketer create awareness of the brand to its consumers and let them know that see this XYZ brand is available in the market and you can satisfy your specific need by using this brand.

Now once the awareness and promotion part is done, SALES comes in.

“Sales is to drag the customer to the point where he or she purchase your product”

“Difference between marketing and sales is as simple as it is”,.

Now coming back to the question, I think the question is but wage you need to understand the marketing and sales first and by doing so you will get your answer.

Its not only a marketer who can become sales person but any person with good communication skills, persuasive nature can be a good sales man.

First we all MUST agree about marketing and sales are different Jobs requirments otherwise we can hier one person to handle both sections in any company , but overall the marketing know for sure the products or the service who try to market it by sequence at least he / she have the first step of being sales man , but MUST have commnications skills in order try to convince other of the products or services.

Yes because Sales depends on marketing if you are a good marketer it is not difficult for you to achive the Sales target.

A marketing person can efficiently o sales as sales is a sub set of marketing. 

Marketing is Promoting the company products and services . That is primary activitty for sales. Maketing people has good knowledge about client interest and present trends in the market.So it is very good helpful for sales.
