Yes, we can sell the refrigerator to the alaskan people though it snows all the year round. They need to keep their food in a cold condition and not freeze it, and thats what refrigerators are there for, more so they can keep other stuffs like medicine etc, which need to be kept at precise temperature. Or sell them as a status symbol for a change.

I would first identify their need, which may be like storing medicines or food products which has a min & Max temp range & could rott below or above that temp. Then will let them know that with my product they can have a maintained temp for such medicine & food products. Now the qusetion about the electricity so the attraction for them is that if they order in20qty we will provide them with a generator to run20 fridges on discounted price which may also be the bi product of my company as we are dealing in the appliances!!!!

And one more thing that people living there may have the temp below freezing point out side the house but inside they surely maintain the room temp to normal level which creates the need of a fridge for the items to be refrigerated.

People use fridges in their houses in Alaska why would Alaska be any different?

Well there could be several NEEDS that one can identify to promote / sell refrigerators in place like Alaska where power would be available for their primary services.

Research and test laboratories for products required in research, experiments and testing purpose.

Hospitals require it for their blood bank.

Storage of temperature sensitive products and byproducts.

First your have to cerate a demand for the product , e.g.  Take a look at the data find the best Pharmacy or even five star hotels. Has per the International standard minimum required for star is to have fridge in there rooms or kitchen is must.

The majority of people here pretty much figured it out, that:

a. Alaska is not cold all year round.

b. That as a general rule your fridge does not really go below zero or else all the liquids and fruits would freeze. As a canadian who survived below40 degree Centigrade weather the best way NOT to freeze your food is to leave it in your fridge. If you wanted to cool your pepsi or coca cola really quickly... just leave it in the balconey.

c. The Fridge will not be practicle in most of the remote areas in Alaska due to the lack of available electricity... so your best bet is to go to the major cities only where electricity is avialable.

Selling a fridge in ALASKA : No electricty and full of ice. That can be turned into a positve aspect for storing any edibles or medicines.  The temperature can be maintained by refilling the fridge with ice and therefore the  medicines and other items can be stored in the refrigator.

Certain items need to be stored at a specific temperature and the product can be used for doing the same.

Yes Alaska is cold place and they always have minus temperature but still if a Sales man wants can sell a fridge there as fridge is status symbol for many families and as it keeps food safe from mositure, humidity and other factors people buy fridges but there would be many who will have intention to buy a colorful fridge and keep it in their kitchen which makes it look good so how we promote the fridge would be important so20 or2000 it depends on marketing and promotion of product to natives at Alaska.

Don't they have fridges in Alaska? Logistically it does not make sense if you have the local market and demand for your product unless you wish to sell it at higher prices due to low competition or higher conversion rates from Alaska. However, just to prove the logic the best way is to convince them, i would setup a demo in a busy super market and present the features for a couple of days, setup a free draw to collect user info if they are interested and probably give that fridge free in the draw to a lucky one. Decent number of lucky draw entries will at least show the need of it. On the draw entry ask them simple questions with check boxes such as do you own a fridge, do you wish to change your fridge, what price are you willing to pay, when do you plan to change it etc..
