Everybody or member of the team or project should be inline or insynch of the goal or target, just like in good old war similar quote, "Together we stand, divided we fall". Just one team member not on the same page will bring surprises later, might be good or worst failure in a project... who knows.

Team Management requires planning.. So for those who we are calling "The Team" they have been choosen (planned to be )according to their specialities and experience to hit the targets of the team. Consider the task as a chain so each member is important to complete it, thats why they all should be on the same page(attitude, enthusiasm & understanding).

Thr project manager has to get the stakeholders inputs in the start of the project. Then, documents the inputs and get the approvals at least from the custormer and the sponsor. The project team must understand what the project deliverables are and how exactly the customer want them. The project manager must establish ground rules in the begining of the project.

 

Failing to do that will introduce other problems that causes delays because of miscommunication, misunderstanding or ignorance. Delays could affect the budget, schedule, quality or scope.
