Yes, that may be true to an extent, but more importantly, no amount of planning can guarantee success; such a lot of other things need to be right or fall in place that at the end of it all, there is no formula that can be derived even when success is achieved..... it seems almost like success has happened rather than having been achieved.

Absolutely Correct.Planning is the key to success. THIS IS THE VISUALIZATION OF THE FUTURE AND ANTICIPATION OF THE CHALLENGES AND PREPARATION FOR THE WORST.

Agree, but remember planning is only as good as the follow up on that planning,it allow you to foresee potential problems arising, and allows you to make corrective action, however logistics is not a exact science as there is a human portion involved that needs to be managed

Yes, Absolutely correct. Planning is the1st Step in all disciplines(of the company services/products) and all  all levels( Junior executive to CIO). Any gaps would have the ultimate result in company ROI( return of Income). A detailed planning strategy is required to be applied by a set of skilled people and with a separate allocation of budget. The aim is to achieve the vision of the company.

I agree.  A failure in planning may not ascertain failure but it absolutely does not promise planned success.
