A Sales Manager generally has a team of sales people who would more into Hunting job 

Find new customers 

A Sales Account Manager will have to manage a set of Key Customer may have team under him 

His job is Farming in Nature. Needs to nurture accounts

 

End of the day both will have meet a set of orgnisation goals

I agree with Ajith. Differentiation of Sales Manager and Sales Account manager depends on whether the sales person has an open ground or has he been given fixed set of accounts to nurture and get business from.
