Resource leveling refers to sustaining the amount of resources for the project for each time period. Basically often in projects resources get overlocated due to assigning of multiple tasks and responsibilities. Smart Project Managers try to make adjustments to balance out their resources levels in order to counter overlocation. (I know this might seem confusing, but this might motivate you to get into PMP training and preparation)

Softwares as such "Microsoft Office Project" offer such features to manage resource leveling along with other PM aspects.
