I would just like to say that this is also my first year as an IB English teacher, and i'm pretty nervous about it too, what I can tell you (which someone has already told me ) is: these students are really bright and they are receiving A quality education, so your performance as a teacher should be nothing less than outstanding, whatever it is that you're teaching you need to have a wide background in order to answer all the intriguing questions students might come up with, always be over-prepared and leave nothing behind.....
