I would use the employees performance standard to make my decision.
I would categorize positions first i.e. untouchable positions, key positions, ancillary ones etc. Then I look into employees’ characteristics and look for those “must stay” due to their importance to the continuity of the company.
In case they are working in multiple departments, i will evaluate and analyze each one level through each department according to:
* If we assume they are all equal. I will take into consideration:
* Keep in mind, people who is near to retire are undesired.
* This is the main important point for the occupant employees, to keep a trusted and safe relationship with his company. Also, for the departing emloyees, to know their rights and to realize the company shortage.
Multi talented, future prospects of the company, progressive and focused
Salary is not that important even in this scinerio.
Would go for motivated and committed people
People who know how to resolve the problems and willing to do what it takes to do that given the current contraints.
