Look for candidate who has inclination and interest towards the job role. Enjoying that job role will be self motivation for that person to perform well. Performance will provide flexibility towards earning.
Interest must be gauged correctly and scientifically.
yeas I agree strongly with Mr. Vshnu
"All employees have a vision for their career and how soon an employer can show him the light to reach his/her goal will determine the employee's decision to join. So salary is just a want not a need"
I make nearly50 interview in one month the most important thing is to persuade the candidate about his status after one year about experiance he will get and so on
For a employee the transition of salary from a motivational factor to a hygiene factor is very quick and salary takes the back seat. Salary can lure an employee especially the fresh graduates but the real motivational factor lies in the nature of the job, its responsibility, career growth and ownership. All employees have a vision for their career and how soon an employer can show him the light to reach his/her goal will determine the employee's decision to join. So salary is just a want not a need.
There are underlying factors why employee stays in the company even if they are poorly compensated;1) the management(owner, supervisor, managers) if they are good in motivating their employee and they can handle the company100% employee will stay but if management are bad even if you will give the person sky rocket salary its also100% that he will leave the company because you did not met the expectations that he have about the management.2) co-worker - the bond between employees will always be there especially if they have work together for a long time.3) the culture inside the organization = employee will stay on their own free will if they see and experience the culture of an organization.4) Professional growth = if it is already a dead end for the career of the employee then the only thing he can do is to move out ...lastly and I think it is also one of the biggest factor that affects the decision of an employee wether to move out of the company or stay its the HR DEPARTMENT = as I have experience if hr personnel are incompetent, rude and other undesirable traits then its already determine that employee will move out. Its not only money that an employee will stay in a company it is also the immaterial things that the company can provide.
