It doesn't need qualifications as much as it needs skills like problem solving, communications, think fast, being a multi-tasks, handle pressure and ability to control situations and sure you need to be experienced in using the system as to provide quick service and above all, you have to like what you're doing so you'd be helping with a positive mood! And sure don't forget the smile :)
i said there no need of qualification because qualification just show your status but not show your behaviour and front office all depend on behaviour and in my vision a perfect front office manager is that person who is honest to work, problem solving and open minded person that qualities made a successful Manager and Successful Man Also

The best qualification you need is Experience, don't think it on a false sense , do consider two persons out , one with lot's of exp and with basic ed and one with too high quals and with a little exp and you have a vac in your company, whom you would choose? .................................... I need the first one , that's my answer
qualification is a such huge meaning, it dose not mean something special but it is collection from how soft the service is,how fast the service is,how is the reaction for the person whom in charge to provide the service,what is reaction from the person that you provided the service to him,and all this points according to the elements and the level that you have in your place if you felt and heard and touched that the guest feels that your service higher than he expected or to the Wow service, that is the first strong stable step to the real meaning of the qualifactions
