The worst part about working in the medical nutrition therapy is the freqent use of anorexigenics guided by non medical nutritionists or dietitians. it is not only a health hazard but it is fatal in patients with cardiovascular disorders, previous history of coagulopathies or ischemic stroke, because of their marked CNS stimulant action and their chronotropic effect that may result in angina and even MI especially in diabetics. even products of natural herbs that contain high protein content have a high amount of phytomenadion (vitamin K) that increase risk of thrombosis.
