If you were a poet , to whom would you write and offer the first gift poem?

I am not a poet and so I would struggle to answer your question Ahmed, however what I find really interesting and shows the "diversity" of poetry are the answers from Anayat and Hojat. The answers are almost from two different cultures and ages, both very sincere in their sentiments albeit relating to different "themes/subjects", but are they so far apart? I think not and it is poetry that provides the"common" ground.

I'm an ex-poet. I used to write about human values and behaviours in the form of short poems. The first one was a Hymn dedicated to Almighty Allah.

I left this field due to my ffeling that many a times I needed to use irrelevant words to keep the stanza balanced. May be it was due to lack of my command on the subject.
