Many people use the two terms {web design” and “web development} interchangeably, but they really do have two different meanings.
Web Design Web design is the customer-facing part of the website.
A web designer is concerned with how a site looks and how the customers interact with it.
Good web designers know how to put together the principles of design to create a site that looks great.
They also understand about usability and how to create a site that customers want to navigate around in because it’s so easy to do.
Web Development Web development is the back-end of the website, the programming and interactions on the pages.
A web developer focuses on how a site works and how the customers get things done on it.
Good web developers know how to program CGI and scripts like PHP.
They understand about how web forms work and can keep a site running effectively.

Best Metrics for Content Management

When I write any piece of web article, here's my top3 factors that I measure to measure whether it's a hit or miss:

1. Reach/ Traffic: If your piece of content is seen by many people, it can be said to be successful. Afterall, you wrote it to be seen and read, right?

2. Retention: If your content si just a one-hit-wonder, it's a failure BUT if a piece of content is so good that it brings back a visitor to your site again and again, looking for more or even subscribing to your newsletter - then you had a winner in that piece.

3. Shares: If your reader likes your content so much that s/he is moved to share it on facebook/ Twitter/ Pinterest etc - it's successful.
