1. Transmission line: this for transport of oil & gas from gathering system to refining, processing or storage areas.

2. Trunk Mainline: are for transmission of product from production area to consumption area.

3. Distrution line: is an end to end flow of product from suppliers to consumer end.

Transmission line means a pipeline, other than a gathering line, that: (a) Transports gas from a gathering line or storage facility to a. distribution center, storage facility, or large volume customer that is.

trunk maine line The main line of a communications or transportation system.

Distribution is the final step in delivering natural gas to customers.distribution network is a system of external pipelines from a source to a gas consumer service line as well as facilities and engineering devices for them

Transmission Line:

For the purposes of analysis, an electrical transmission line can be modelled as a two-port network (also called a quadrupole network), as follows:

Transmission line4 port.svg

In the simplest case, the network is assumed to be linear (i.e. the complex voltage across either port is proportional to the complex current flowing into it when there are no reflections), and the two ports are assumed to be interchangeable. If the transmission line is uniform along its length, then its behaviour is largely described by a single parameter called the characteristic impedance, symbol Z0. This is the ratio of the complex voltage of a given wave to the complex current of the same wave at any point on the line. Typical values of Z0 are or ohms for a coaxial cable, about ohms for a twisted pair of wires, and about ohms for a common type of untwisted pair used in radio transmission.

Trunk Main Line: use for transmission of product from production area to consumption area.

Distributions Line:distribute to oil different locations.
