Start making your own programms.
For example make a programm to solve a2nd degree equation. Solve it by hand & make sure your programm is correct.
Continue making new programms for what u need at your work & so on.
The more programms you make the stronger you 'll become.
For a good programmer the first thing is to understand the basic concept, thus for understanding the language you should have a good knowledge of oops, because many language support or follow oops rules.
