My suggestion is to work in corel draw.1. Define what the company produces.2. Understand customer's request (this is essential).3. Specify the target and direction of the logo ideas.4. Specify the patented and protected pick paint colors and use them for making logos.5. Select main font and assistant font that will be used to make a logo or make a typical font if is necessary.6. Finally, visualization and proportions logo.
Try the very basic question that should asked for creating any corporate identity. I believe those questions must be all answered precisely by the customer :
1. Define the company goals, objectives, Mission, vision
2. State the Company main competitor and Market nature. ex: technology, retail, automotive, FMCG as each one has its one taste
3. Understand the customer (decision maker) main direction needs to take and professionally inject it to your objectives
4. Brain storm the main ingredients to be utilized in colors, design elements, tagline- if needed
5. State what areas to avoid that may lead to degrade the Brand image as for example being imitation to competitor, weaker in color or design than market standards, too odd to market or related to other industry
6. Create your design options, develop the directions you wish; never introduce to the customer more than 3 and each one has its own description. don't leave the perception to customer mind
& Good Luck
Recent practices use traditional or archaic elements. A "vintage" touch rings a bell in customers' nostalgia, if you know what I mean. The deeper the logo goes into the mind, the stronger it gets :)
You have to start from your main Company idea.
Your Company Idea is clear = Useful LOGO
Creativity: Simple, Elegant, Attractive, Purposeful according to your main company idea
Thank You !

Follow this guide and you’ll be well on your way to developing your own brand image.
First, decide on how the logo will be used and whether it will be both a name and icon, or name alone.
Design in black and white To help you focus on typeface. You can easily translate your design to colour but the reverse is harder .
Make sure your company name is clear within your logo.
Choose two or three colors .
Use a maximum of two typefaces.
make sure you view your Logo in many different ways so that you can address any problems before you print your marketing or other materials.
It should hold a meaning and reflect the philosophy of the company.
In the other hand, the strong logos ever is the smart and the simple in the same time,
for that I don’t prefer to use many colors.
