You raised a very good point. In today's world to save the money companies like Facebook, Ebay, Amazon are relying on Freelancers. Its a win - win situation for both the parties. Companies need not to pay the salary, they need not to bear the infrastructure costs and other miscellaneous costs. However the Freelancer will get the best possible rate if he/she is out the country. Freelancer will earn almost45% -75% higher amount which he will earn in his whole year being on a normal salary.
For start up organization freelance can become the success factors because of cost involved in it. Secondly if the resource is not well you can chuck it off and hire a new freelancer. There can be many pros and con of hiring freelancers. Depend what you want.
