I don't believe that a businessman with as much "savvy" as Bill Gates would actually believe that! He cetainly wouldn't trust a lazy person with anything important, purely in case they couldn't be bothered to do it.! I feel that he just wanted to say something that made him sound as wise and philosophical as an Einstein, Mandela or someone of that ilk!!!
it again depends on his core habit..
Situation1 - If is he lazy & smart go getter then obviously yes..
Situation2 - if not a lazy person cannot fit anywhere he will always finds way to escape from the job..
In case of situation1 if some one can drive then he will find means in getting his tasks accomplished thru shortest route..
I'd rather say: "I will always choose a crazy person to do an imaginary job, because he will find a real way to do it"!!!
His quote was recently placed on LinkedIn. I will post what I posted there: the hair-thin line between genius & craziness with Bill Gates must have been blurred by age, top-pyramid accomplishment & lack of motivation.
I have high respect for Bill Gates, but this is total rubbish! Then again he wasn't really known for having natural talent of a top communicator or a charismatic allround wise-man. Just an opinion aimed at the quotes, absolutely not the person.
I totally agree with that, and not just because it is from the richest and most famous person on earth (for now!) but because I personally apply it in my work.
Usually, technical guys do think on the task with their technical knowledge, side by side. What I mean by that, is when you try to solve a problem or perform a task, you mostly will think of the code you will use, technology available, difficulties you will face, etc. Therefore, you might end up judging that the task is impossible or very difficult.
However, a lazy person (as Bill said) and a non technical person (as I refer to) is someone is not from the field or not ever related to the business. Try it, simply ask someone from different department or one of your friends, how to solve a problem? How this product should be? How our next interface should be? Etc You will notice the amazing answers and solutions they will provide. Why? Because they think logic and not driven by any difficulties.
Disagree, a lazy person will either delay the job or submit low quilty results!
Disagree too. a lazy person never find out a easy way ,only hard working minded person will able to take this challange professionally .
As per research here are the attributes of succesful people:
Myth1: Successful people say, "If I can fit it in, I should fit it in."Truth: Very successful people are absurdly selective.
Myth2: Successful people sleep four hours a night.
Truth: Very successful people rest well so they can be at peak performance.
Myth3: Successful people think play is a waste of time.Truth: Very successful people see play as essential for creativity.
Myth4: Successful people are the first ones to jump in with an answer.Truth: Very successful people are powerful listeners.
Myth5: Successful people focus on what the competition is doing.Truth: Very successful people focus on what they can do better.
Now, Bill Gates says.
Bill Gates Says: (I will always choose a lazy person to do a difficult job, Because he will find an easy way to do it). Do you agree with him or Not?I'm agree because bill gates know the SECRET as a simple logic he made it. "LAZY PERSON" Means a "PASSIONATE PEOPLE" to do the thing that they love to do it without any difficulty.
Only Bill Gates can afford to do that not any ordinary business person, May be he has success, money and enough patience to deal with such characters.
YES, LAZY BUT SMART WORKER CAN MAKE THINGS EASY FOR HIMSELF BUT YOU MUST HAVE GREAT LUCK LIKE BILL GATES TO BELIEVE & TRUST PEOPLE .
I think this saying is correct in one condition, when that lazy person is intellegent & experienced. One more thing; remove "always" from the sentence and it will be then more acceptable.
I agree with Mr. Gates. He speaks out of his Experiences.
