Depend on the need of your organization. Is there a need to share contents with customer? What type of content is it, can it be shared publicly without compromizing security? Perhaps another option is a separated cloud, one private and one public.
A hybrid solution is the best but it will incur some cost to develop or to buy authentication service.
Depending on Organization strength and policy they will go for Hybrid solution or Cloud.
Our task is to find out organization strength, policy, expenditure of new technology and we have to approach them on their best fitted solution.
In my opinion, for samll to medium organization. I find a private cloud is good solution.
