the time shouldn't take any longer than it needs to be. You need to respect your customer's time constraints. If you ask for an hour of your customer's time, that's16% of his day. Are you that important? Will you bring him/her enough value to justify that? Never allow your preconceived notions to override your customer's time constraints.

the exact answer may vary on the situation and nature of the meeting, also depends on who is in control of the meeting,

however IMO in a a general sales senario, a meeting shouldn't be less then5 minutes and no more then25 mins, only shows that you are not rushing the cusomer yet you resepct and value their time.
