Hi and Good day

The success of any IT project per se, depends on the way its implemented. Mostly we see successful IT system deployment, but if you check the actual implementation across a company's operations, people, process and culture...the change management would not have happened at all..Maybe you need to revisit the sucess of enterprise implementations like when a senior level management professional said,60% of enterprise implementations did not give tangible results to the company and remained another reporting tool.

So focus on implementation and executive plan from the customer perspective and look at change management, and you should be good to implement the new system from the legacy

Thanks

Shaju

Hello,

You have to define the objectives of implementing the new system in a clear manner.

your project scope and requirements must be identified clearly and approved from the stakeholder.

you have to take care of the technical and implementation risks those coming from transfer a legacy application to the modern one ( Like  Data transfer , Training , human resistance ,,,,)

The continuous control, measure and improvement are very important for your project success.

I think that a new system implementation should have as a core goal to prepare the organization for its future challenges (change in processes in order to achieve higher operational efficiency, for example) bur at the same time to make sure that all the current functions that will be maintained will be compatible with the new system being implemented.

I also believe that the translation of this goal into specific features (scope of the project) will depend on the current position of each organization and the challenges it wants do address

In my opinion the most important thing is how smooth the transition can go from the old system to the new system, in terms of implementing the system and the adaptation of the already exising users, what contributes to this most is that the new system can cover or realize the buisness proccesses that used to be achieved through the old one & if not then make alternatives to them in a way that can be fully realized by the current users of the system.

It is to understand the current systems functionality n customisations ....then perform data conversions and integrate same functionality on the new system.

Passtest :

1) Is it business enabler ?

2) Who are the users and are they ready to embrace the new system ?

3) TCI/ROI done correctly or not ?

4) Check if there are any hidden cost associated with the product ?

5) Is proper ROADMAP done ?
