Management by objectives is the best way of running work,,,,, so be flexible and gain the team loyalty in another word “ control their heart not their minds “
Strictness towards discipline and game rules.
Tons of flexibility and lots of space for self and team development, learning, creative ideas, suggestions and high team spirit to WIN TOGETHER or TOGETHER WE CAN DO IT !
In my opinion, the best thing to do if your a team leader is to adopt the situational leadership style. Apply strictness and flexibility with your team in a case to case basis as the work requires.
Its always a good idea to get to know your team .. get to know their strehgths and weaknessess .. so adopt whatever strategy you see fit to do that ... The key to running a good team is to know the limitations of your team and work accordingly. For me running the team like a family has always worked. Your team members should respect you and look up to you ... but at the same time you should be approachable and understanding so a bit of strictness always helps but one also needs to be flexible at the same time
it depends on the situation you are dealing with, some situation needs to be strict and wise for the team you manage.
It is best to be play a neutral role with the Team Mates, first we have to let them freek out themselves and explain the complete problem to us, then we have to analyse the problems with the connected departments and find out a solution. On the other hand, if the problem is very serious, and due to that our customer is affected, first we have to take action to calm down the customer and let us take action against the relevant teams subsequentily and there is no solution can be found if we harsh with the team members, we have to be professional at the same time have to maintain cardial relationship with the team mates, so that if any problem arises out the team members will approach you at the first hand instead of bypassing you. First we have to develop a relationship with the team members in such a way that they do not have hesitant to come to us whenever there is an issue.
Again it all depends on the individual you are handling. Not all individuals are the same, some require coaxing, some require a friendly atmosphere, some will only do if ordered to. So studying each team member - his background, his likes, dislikes his interest his honesty on performing a task, his attitude, his seriousness towards his job, his organisation, his satisfaction levels etc. will certainly help to make a decision to be flexible or strict
Due to my experience I see you should be both where you get to know your team very well and be always there as a friend before a manager to them in work and at the same time you should be the strict manager when needed. .Therefore I see that a manager or a team leader should be a friensly, strict leader
Human Beings are motivated by politeness, stictness causes stress and in the situation of stress most of the people even having good grip of certain skills, lose the attention to details.
Politness and free friendly environment is key to best done the job but this politness must not be over boundry, both subordinate and superior must bare in mind the position and nature of work done.
ANSWER IS THE USE OF MAN MANAGEMENT,,,, EVERY HUMAN BEING HAS DIFFERENT STYLE, ATTITUDE , WAY OF WORKING.... DEAL THE MAN AS HE WANT YOU TO DEAL HIM. GOOD LUCK
Flexibility as situations (eg pricing, personalities, clients’ needs and offers) change but with professionalism
