Performance of a job duties means an employee is required by a written statement to carry out certain job-related functions i.e. he is responsible for doing them, which means accountability. When a job is done as planned, then there is job security.

Performance

The accomplishment of a given task measured against preset known standards of accuracy, completeness, cost, and speed. In a contract, performance is deemed to be the fulfillment of an obligation, in a manner that releases the performer from all liabilities under the contract.

Employee Performance

The job related activities expected of a worker and how well those activities were executed. Many business personnel directors assess the employee performance of each staff member on an annual or quarterly basis in order to help them identify suggested areas for improvement.
