Sometimes in Big companies , you only work as one gear in their motor and you keep being a gear .

But in small companies , you may take big responsibilities compared to your experience as they don't have all expertise everywhere .

So in small companies you will learn a lot but you will learn it the hard way try & error .

But in the Big companies you will not learn a lot , but what you will learn will be by the correct ways using traning , shadowing & experience .

1. Big companies are process driven and KRA will be end to end responsibilities due to this learning is endless.

2. Benifits are generally good.

3. Groth prospects are better in current job and also when we apply for new jobs.

Big company can provide job stability and a long term career path. However the small company can provide challenging roles where one can learn a lot, as well as more opportunities to advance in his career as well.

It depends upon the readiness of that person to face challenges and what kind of previous experience he has already gained to effectively tackle the level of responsibilities he will be required to undertake in his new job.

If he has adequate experience and equipped with substantial skills for the job as an Engineer (for example), then he is ready to work with a small Company as nobody will coach him there. He can not depend on anybody, he will be on his own and is expected to work independently, and therefore, he will be facing many challenges.

Being one of the pioneers in a small Company, most likely, a large portion of his work in the early stage will be : initiating, formulating and setting up systems, procedures and guidelines to be used in that small Company, and when he succeeds in this stage, that is itself the start of a superb accomplishment which contribute much to the growth of that small Company. The Management can then consider him as a valuable asset to the organzation that will push him up to a higher position which may lead to his inclusion into the Higher Management that formulates policies and makes decisions for the Company.

On the other hand,

If that person has only been working for a few years and no adequate or substantial experience yet, then he is advised to take up assignment in a big Company where he will be able to gain more experience, enhance whatever current level of skills he has and integrate himself to an established and existing system in that big Company. In this case, he will only face few challenges but his aim is to equip himself with the needed additional knowledge, acquiring varied methods and approaches  in order to have a progressive career improvement.
