some great convincing techniques for business deals: 1.
Allow the opponant to speak and be a better listener for while and start your talk after gaining some tips/ info from him 2.
Try to connect him during his talk by education (school/collage/same as your field), Native place, Children or any other common subject. 
3.
Identify the skill/ talent of the opponant and praise gently 4.
Explain the fact of your deal and make the opponant to understand benefits for him 5.
Do not try to explain that he is going to be a gainer and you will be the looser.
Make him to understand the win win situation 6.
Use the time/ demand factors, pressurize indirectly to take a decision
