the environment of a work count a lot on the sale department . how we all know that the sale department is the main department where all the profit come from a this department must have a good environment as this can help the staffs and the the customers also.
ofcourse the seles department are directly concerned with environment. if the organizational environment are matched with with sales department then then sales will automatically decreased
for example
if there is no training
there is no customer follow up
if there is unsatisfied employees the sales will be effected
The answer depends really on what you may include under "work environment" ...
To me, there is an "internal work environment" that is highly under control of the organization's management , and there is an "external work environment" that is outside the control of the management of the organization.
When a positive/encouraging work environment is available to the sales department including adequate working conditions, facilities, equipment, support from other functions/departments and positive market conditions altogether, this will affect the sales department performance .
