OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Act) regulation sets out the requirements on how to control hazardous energy before performing maintenance, adjustments and / or repairs to equipment or machinery. The goal is to perform the task while preventing an unexpected discharge of energy, which can cause serious injury or even death.

FDA regulates all foods and food ingredients introduced into or offered for sale in interstate commerce, with the exception of meat, poultry, and certain processed egg products regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)

USDA regulations protect and promote U.S. agricultural health, administer the Animal Welfare Act, carry out wildlife damage management activities, and ensure that America's agricultural exports are protected from unjustified trade restrictions.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)is responsible both for the registration of new pesticides before they can be marketed and the re-registration of older pesticides to ensure that they meet current scientific standards.
