Do you obey authority out of fear or respect?

I obey authority out of respect because before obeying I research the authority's intentions and arguments, and only submit myself to it if I agree with them. I wouldn't put myself in a position where I obey authority out of fear because it is a disruptive lifestyle.

Fear develops stress in work place, therefore it is good for one to respect authority instead of fear them.
