In almost every case, when an employee leaves a company voluntarily, it is Managements fault. Yes, there are the proverbial "nails in the coffin" which Management loves to deflect to - such as "they got offered more money", "their work load is easier over there", and on and on. But if Management was doing their job correctly, in almost every case none of these reasons would be enough to make them want to move to a different company.

90% of the times they quit their jobs due to management. A bad manager is a big factor in employee performance. A good manager, no matter the salary, will inspire loyalty. Good employees leave because they believe another company will treat them better.

Primarily, employees leave their jobs due to such reasons.

Employees quit for so many reasons and some of them personal.  But the primary reason is management.  Employees by nature prefer to stay where they are so that they can grow and build a career but they find themselves obliged to leave if they can't stand their manager.  Some management practices push employees to quit.  In a survey that I did as part of my MBA thesis I asked some questions related to how management strategy can affect tunrover rates.  In a question listing some reasons for submitting their resignation,45% of contributors chose bad relation with their direct manager.  And in another question asking what if management is not adopting positive management technqiues will you quit,56% agreed that they would.  So it is realy about management practices.

It depends on each case alone!

But even though it is possible for an employee to leave because of his boss or his company, we should not forget the third one: because of himself faults!

I really don't think so. Given the opportunity I'd never allow such people to be part of team. In my opinion a best empolyee always know what is his professional objective and he plan accordingly and then execute his plan to achieve is professional objective.

Employee those who quit because of management are burden, they are not clear with their professional objective and they don't know how to achieve it. These are the class of people who always blame circumstances for their failiure.. enough can be written abou them because I am one among them :)

Most often than not, the management is the reason.

Management is generally a function, or reflection, of the company's goals and vision, whether stated publicly or not.  Certainly a person leaves because of managment, but a company is generally defined by its managment and its management philosophy.  When staff start leaving a company by their own choice, there is generally a reason to be concerned for the company and the managment probably needs to be changed.
