I'd say less the better, but also there is no harm even if you have more pages, what is more important is, all the relevent information should find place in the first page itself. For me relevent information are industry specifice  experience, skills, achievements.

Dear Manu,

There are no hard and fast rules for the length of a resume. Ideally, as suggested by Saiful, it could be2 pages; however, if you feel your experience needs a detailed brief that wouldn't fit in2 pages, you are free to extend the length. As a recruiter, I am looking for crux of your experience. If you are a management professional, I would look for your achievements, if you belong to support functions, I would look at your qualifications and experience, if you belong to IT, I would look at your projects and so on. My attention to a resume is defined by the pointers that my client would be interested in.

A resume is your biography in short, so please spend some time and ensure you make it worthwhile for others to read it.

Cheers

Gopi Krishna

Dear Sankar,

2-3 pages are standard of CV. As a HR professional, I always find relevant education, relevant skill, relevant training and relevant experience to fit the position.

Good Luck
