It depends on the candidate's ability to convert the chances in frames, what I do beilive is the phrase said by Richard Br'sn : If any opportunity offered to you for which you are not sure to do well, then say, YES for it and later start to learn how to perform in a best way.

I would like to echo Mr.Arinjay's view. It totally depends upon the personality. One can use it to climb high further or with negativism they can fall off. But , When opportunity knocks , You should take it with both hands and make oneself eligible for it by putting all their abilities.
