Yes ,,, ultimately, we need to express things in numbers to be able to quantify them and measure them and later on  manage them to be within acceptable/desired/allowed values

Having said that,  we know that there things which remain to be based on perception and impressions. Hence it would  be impossible to quantify them and express them in numbers ...  This is true if you talk about that directly , but this could be possible indirectly through the impact/result that these things leave and by measuring such impact and results and use them as indirect indicator of such impressions and perceptions

by making the list of all assignments as daily, weekly and monthly.

An organisation exist only when its profit grows. Profit = Numbers (within a timeframe). If there is no number no growth can be counted.

We just need to determine the way to measure the work. Everything is quantifiable. Imagine! It can be used for Performance Management System for both parties (Employer and Employees)

Yes. In a performance base environment, especially with so many competitors, management must drive their business model through key metric indicators. However, in order to recruit top performers, one must find and recruit employees that understand intrinsict value to the organization. My past experience has allowed me to recruit the best the industry that understand this and expect their performance to be measure. Furthermore, the top 1% of performers will exceed all the metrics and drive revenue and profitability.

I don't agree with the fact. Some personality traits like perseverance and loyalty cannot not be measured on a scale. So one has to have a good eye to find the real potential of a subordinate to bring best out of him/her.

Ideally. all things are best managed if they could be managed. As the objective of management is to perform and whatever can not be measured ca never determine performance, measurement becomes imperative in management.

However, the means of measurement is determined by the nature of what is being measured. Yes, the use of numbers are common but there are instance most especially where performance could be attained through behaviours such as smart appearance, positive attitude etc.
