Motivating & mentoring the staff is definitely the best way to build a happy office environment and mutual respect. Most of the individuals desires respect and appreciation more than money. If we treat our staff well, they will be genuinely inclined. A proactive and passionate approach doesn't come with rewards always. Having said, I don't mean we have to be always too good to our team member but even scoldings and punishments need to be handled with a lot of respect and without degrading their dignity. After all, mentoring necessarily need not mean guiding / training alone. It includes showing the correct path as what the organization perceive.

Don't punish the employee for each and every flaw he/she does.

It's a must to have some flexibility in dealing with the flaws of the team.

It's going to score high levels of success and progress.

There are some flaws need to be faced by high punishment and a lot of others need to be forgotten.

By that way, you build small-seeds of leaders may be good in the future by the favor of you and your attitude.

fully agreed with the statement. As you are hiring a person as a "whole" so better build a mutual trust to the level whereby your staff even discuss their personal problems with you. At this level, your staff won't hide their mistake or tell a lie rather always gives honest feedback. This will create hormony at workplace and enhances productivity.

Encourage employees for their best. Motivate them, appreciate them, reward them, and give freedom to do work...and of course money is a strong factor for all human being, think of it for them.
