I recommend you to configure RAID1

Because as per my experience with2 HDD you can either choose RAID-0 or RAID-1.

RAID-0 doesn’t support redundancy and commonly it is used for obtaining excellent performance in data transferring by block stripping method.

RAID-1 supports redundancy and you cannot expect an excellent preference as RAID-0 but you can assure that if one HDD failed the data is safe in another HDD. The main disadvantages of RAID-1, you can use only half of the total space and even if it supports redundancy most probably you required down time for the machine because in software RAID, RAID-1 don’t always allow a hot swap for a filed HDD.

In your requirement keeps importance to redundancy so I recommend choosing RAID-1
